The Sharks board: There is an organization situated in Umhlanga, Kwa-ZuluNatal that is unique in the world and that is the Natal Sharks Board. It was established in 1964 to provide protection for both sharks and bathers, the Natal Sharks Board performs this duty along the coast from Richards Bay all the way to Port Edward.

Crocodile Valley Nature Reserve: This unique tourist attraction is set in one of the last remaining swamp forests along the South Coast. It is home to a collection of unique and rare snakes, over 100 Nile Crocodiles which are incidentally the largest species of crocodile in the world, as well as an endless variety of bird life. There are many walks available at the fitness levels of the avid nature walker.

The facilities also include a tea garden, arts and crafts shop, picknick and braai sites. Educational tours and birthday party’s area available by arrangement.

Diving Guided dives to famous wrecks, reefs, and the big blu dives. PADI certification as well as gear hire. Encounter dolphins, whales and sharks in their natural environment.

Umhlanga Lagoon: This is situated at the end of Lagoon Drive with parking at Breakers Resort. This is a delightful trail of about one hour with a guide. They are orgainsed tours every Thursday at 9H00 and 11H00. The costs of a walk of a guide is R5.00 per person. There are braai and picknick spots.
